SOC 46A Stanford University Sociological Perspectives of Trauma Thesis

Question Description

I’m working on a research & summaries project and need a sample draft to help me learn.

The DRP (Developing a Research Proposal) Paper is a major, cumulative assignment in our course.

Either by yourself or in a group, write a college-level research proposal that applies the materials learned from our course (lectures, readings, discussion sessions, etc.). The paper should use the DRP Paper template (Links to an external site.) as a model and follow additional specific guidelines listed below.

The assignment is a proposal to research your sociological topic(s) of interest. You are not expected to actually carry out the research.

The number of students allowed in a group is noted in the course Syllabus under “Assessment”. The full official names of everyone in the group must be identified on the submitted documents and everyone in the same group must submit the assignment (even though the documents submitted by everyone in the same group are the same).

“You” and “your group” are used interchangeably in this document.

Goals:

  1. Apply scientific research methods from a sociological perspective
  2. Know how to construct strong sociological research questions
  3. Demonstrate an ability to apply critical thinking skills to evaluate literature reviews
  4. Identify ethical issues in research
  5. Understand and recognize the advantages and disadvantages of various research methods

  • At least 2 peer-reviewed, academic/scientific papers in the literature review section.
  • Double spacing
