I think that the Columbian Exchange is often overlooked because people are so consumed with the happenings of material gains and do not have their eyes open to things so simple as why they have certain foods on the table, or how it is that they are able to have simple pleasures in life. They do not care to take the time to see things that are not big and flashy such as wars, politics and the people in power. They are to consumed with their own selfish desires to appreciate the small things that actually lead way to allow for the bigger things in life. Ignorance is bliss or so it is said to be.

I belive that this timer period had a vast amount of different views, and later led to an ultimate difference of opinion. Essentially here we have a country who most were unknown too, so of course we have everyone who wants a piece of this unknown territory with unknown natives. So new settlers were curious as to what exactly this land had to offer. Soon the colonists began to realize that there’s a different atmosphere so different crops that were originally hard to grow in the European lands were easily grown here. This would ultimately lead to a battle of the best territories based on what resource were available, then dictatorships happened which led to there being a separation of northern and southern lands. So much happened in this time period that these lectures were so SO informational.
Great lecture prof. By the way love the George Washington sweater!
