Comparing Interval of Days Between Birth as A Threat to Extinction of Species Report

Question Description

In this assignment you will use the first dataset. The first dataset is data on extinction risk from the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) this dataset shows some attributes of threatened and non-threatened species, from a study of extinction risk. There are three variables that you can choose to compare between the threatened and non-threatened species. The three variables are Interbirthinterval_days (birth interval in days, in other words the average number of days between births), HomeRange_km2 (the size of the species’ range in square km), and HumanPopulationDensity_km2 (the average number of humans in the species’s range per 1 square km). Choose any one of these three variables and compare the averages between threatened and non-threatened species. You will then perform a t-test of the difference between the means of any one of those three variables between threatened and non-threatened species. The dataset is uploaded.

You will have to turn in a short technical report. Use the following format for your report. In the first paragraph explain in three or four sentences why you chose the variables you chose. Then explain and interpret your analysis, this should take a couple of sentences to write. Be sure to include your graph and use your graph to support your interpretation of the analysis. You must specifically refer to your graph and use it to support your conclusion or you will lose 5 points.

Turn the assignment in as a Word document or pdf. Do not use any other format, as I may not be able to open the file.
