Tarrant County College District Twelve Years a Slave Analysis

The information collected from numbers 1-5 should be included in a 5-7 full page paper (title page or reference page will not be included in page count), double-spaced, 1 inch margins, 12 point font. No need for APA or MLA.

1. As it relates to juveniles or families with juveniles; select a film or mini-series and give a general synopsis; no documentaries or docu-series allowed.

2. From your selection in #1, you will choose a client or client system and identify at least 5 underlying issues; (example: homelessness, mental illness, racial, gender bias, religion, immigration, etc.) and discuss how these issues are affecting the client/client system. The client you choose do not have to be the main character in the film or mini-series.

3. Of those 5 themes from #2, select at least 2 current events from a news source; describe the events clearly identifying the themes from #2 and include the news source.

4. How can we (juvenile workers or agencies/organizations) assist the client/client system in getting on the right track? How can we repair the problems of the underlying issues for these juveniles or families? Research at least 2 agencies that can possibly assist with the issues you pointed out from both current events (1 agency/organization per event); i.e. what are the policies, procedures and practices to the resolution to each current event.

5. How does the client(s) issue impact the community and the world if the agency does/does not intervene?
