Walden University Quantitative Analysis in Healthcare Discussion

I’m working on a nursing discussion question and need guidance to help me understand better.

Provide an overview of your interest including both a qualitative and quantitative research question related to your interest. Specifically, for the quantitative question, identify your independent and dependent variables; for the qualitative question, identify your approach for data collection.

On a word document, address your area of interest/inquiry and why it interests you. Then, write out your (1) quantitative and, (2) qualitative question regarding your problem area of interest. Then, just copy and paste this into the discussion board area.

In chapters 8 and 9 in Murphy’s Evidence for Practice book, there is great information on how to write a quantitative and a qualitative question with examples, as each of these research approaches have a different look on the outcome in the question you are interested in by how you write the question. Basically, quantitative method uses numerical data to find out the answer and qualitative method uses the person’s perspective on how things are going, usually orally to the investigator when asked a question or questions.
