Oakwood University Week 1 Business Research Devotional Activity
Question Description
Samuel had the awesome responsibility of informing Israels first and second kings of their divinely-led appointments as leaders of Gods people. In reference to the appointment of King David, Israels second king, the Bible states in 1 Samuel 16:7 (ESV), But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.’
Reflect on how the message in this scripture might relate to the work of business research, described as an organized, systematic, data-driven, critical, objective, inquiry or investigation to a specific problem (Sekaran and Bougie, 2016). What situations might you face as a researcher when data, and even what seems logical, will need to be abandoned in order to ensure Gods will and purpose are carried out?
