Instructions for History Report

Students will conduct research using the library databases to familiarize themselves with the underpinnings and evolution of children’s literature.

Students must write a 2- page report on the history of children’s literature. The report must include the following:

• When was children’s literature first established
• What was the initial purpose of children’s literature
• Detail the type of children’s literature available in the 18^th– 21^st century
• The evolution of children’s literature in terms of audience, themes, and transition from Anglo Saxon/ Western perspectives to modern day views

Please be sure to cite all sources in MLA or APA format. Papers that do not include research and in text citations will receive a zero. Students must cite at least 3 sources. All sources must be credible and scholarly. Please do not use Wikipedia as a source.
