Overview

This semester, students will research an oceanographic environmental issue that has or is currently affecting the world’s oceans. There are a wide range of problems that you could choose from, and I’ll put a list of some below. The paper will be worth 30% of your grade and will be due on Wednesday, May 5 by 11:59PM, through email only.

Breakdown for Paper

For the term paper, you will have to write a double-spaced 5-7-page paper on the environmental problem of your choice.

Your paper should follow a structured setup, which includes

Introduction: Write a thorough introduction on the environmental problem, which includes primary facts and figures that will be later discussed

Body of Paper: This part of the paper will be the core, and will include data, facts, and analyses about the problem. You could include broad issues or specific case studies about the overall problem.

Conclusion: The final part of the paper will be your conclusion. This should be brief but specific, and sum up your paper. You could also include your own opinion in this section.

Citations: You MUST include citations for your paper. If you don’t, you will receive a 0 for the paper. Also the citation page is not included in the 5-7-page guideline.

The font of the paper must be the following: Times New Roman 12, Ariel 11, Calibri 12, or Cambria 12. Please do not use any other font types or large fonts to fill up pages.
