King Lear: Answering an Inductive or Analytical Question

Create an inductive or analytical question that addresses a conflict, concept or unique reading of the play.

This completed 3-4 page argument essay should do the following:

• Answer the question in a clear thesis statement
• Cite evidence and do a close reading of the text
• Develop your answer by connecting it to multiple parts of the novel
• Conclude your ideas and give a larger importance to your paper (So What?)

If you choose an inductive question, keep in mind that it deals directly with the text and you connect your inferences with evidence from the novel.

If you create an analytical question, you are connecting the novel with something related. You will most likely need to cite a source or two for this.
