Walden University Popular Cultures Emerge Diversely Discussion

Question Description

I just need a quick response to the posting below

posting: One trend that I was unaware of and surprised me by becoming a trend was mismatched shoes. This trend started around 2017 and was first seen on the red carpet (Liao, 2017). I started to see people around me doing this trend, but I never found myself interested in it. I would say I am somewhat active in pop culture. I say this because as I’ve grown older I do not track pop culture as much. For example, I don’t track fashion, advertisements, and video games because they don’t intrigue me as they did before, or I don’t have access to it. Since everything is about streaming, I am mainly on streaming sites. Movies, music, and TV shows are the artifacts I tend to track. Especially this year since we have been stuck at home all year. I feel like these things help me distract the most, and I can relate to them much more than any of the other artifacts.

If I could create a popular culture artifact and provide universal access to it the message, I would avoid would be: only for a certain age group, gender, race, and so forth. I would want an all-inclusive pop culture artifact where everyone can enjoy it and bring people together. Pop culture should be for everyone to enjoy and appreciate. It allows people to bond over a common thing while having different perspectives of the artifact. Even though everyone will not relate to it the same or find it interesting it feels good knowing that you can enjoy the same artifact as everyone else. The included message would be equality which we all deserve no matter where we come from, how we identify, or any other factors. Pop culture is unavoidable and is only going to continue to grow.
