Martin Luther:
In the 1400’s, following the upheaval of the Black Death, Europeans began to question the corruption and absuses of power by the Catholic Church. This movement sought to reform the Catholic Church, one of its leaders in Germany was Martin Luther. In his 95 Theses he lodged a serious protest against the sale of indulgences & other corruptions of Christian theology. The Vatican refused to consider these suggestions and the Protestant Reformation was born.
Queen Elizabeth I:
After a bloody series of wars and failed successions to the throne, the second daughter of Henry VIII became the British monarch Queen Elizabeth I. She ruled for over 40 years and established the United Kingdom as a Western Powerhouse through diplomacy, warfare and cultural accomplishments.
