Independent Project: Gross National Income and Purchasing Power Parity
Use data from the World Bank (http://databank.worldbank.org/data/download/GNIPC.pdf (Links to an external site.)) to learn about the gross national income (GNI) in US dollars and purchasing power parity (PPP), a measure of international dollars, for three different countries of your choice as well as for the United States (for a total of four countries).
Next, research some of the major characteristics of these three countries (economic development, political structure, labor market, etc.) and discuss each of these countries GNI and PPP in the context of what you learned about each nation online. Use your sociological imagination in your discussion, and integrate any relevant concepts and findings from your textbook chapter. Your write-up should be approximately 1.52 pages in length.
