ENG 101 UCI Effects of Global Rising Sea Level Due to Climate Change Research Paper

The end product of this project is a short research paper of 4 pages of content plus one Works Cited page on the topic of climate change. The paper will be written in MLA format and will list the resources you used on a Works Cited page and will use a variety of in-text citations in the body of the paper.

Important items:

Your papers will obviously cover the same topic, but you will each write about it a little differently. In addition, you will each find at least 2 articles in addition to the ones listed above or provided by the instructor. These will be academically appropriate articles, and you will learn how to find them using our library search mechanisms. In fact, during this project, you will learn to–

• Use the library website to search for articles on a topic.
• Scan/search through long articles for relevant and useful information
• Evaluate the articles for readability and focus—are they workable and useful for your paper?
• Refer to the “Help” drop-down menu on the library website for the videos about MLA format.
• Make note cards as you read your resources. THIS IS ACTUALLY A CRITICAL STEP!
• Organize your note cards so that you can see how to develop your paper.
• Create a Works Cited page in MLA format. Do this as you work.
• Create in-text citations that connect with each source on your WC page.
• Create different types of in-text citations so that you have some variety of forms.
• Handle MLA format: font and size, spacing, margins, heading, last name/page, and using the “Paragraph” menu in Word so that your document is set up correctly from the get-go. Remember to set it at 0/0 and Double space before you start typing.
