I need to fix one paragraph in my essay (It is underlined). I need to connect between Machiavelli and Lao Tzu, my mistake that I wrote a comparison between them. It must be a parallel structure and connected between Lao Tzu and Machiavelli. Thank you

According to Lao Tzu, a ruler must be a state guardian rather than a tyrant. The notion of a leader being a state’s guardian is enhanced by Lao Tzu’s suggestion that the right people for leadership are those who protect and treat the nation as if it were themselves. Additionally, he claims that a powerful ruler should neither make light of themselves nor boast; he should create a personality that gives the distance between the people and themselves.

Conversely, Machiavelli suggested that it was better for a leader to be widely feared instead of greatly revered and loved. Machiavelli was a firm believer in the idea that the authority of a loved leader is retained by obligation while a fear leader wields his power through using the fear of punishment. He claims, “It is much safer to be feared than loved because love is preserved by the link of obligation which, owing to the baseness of men, is broken at every opportunity for their advantage; but fear preserves you by a dread of punishment which never fails.”
