AU Shifting an Organization Infrastructure to Cloud Computing Discussion

Question Description

I need someone to write a small paragraph for discussion post, also to reply with short sentences for one of the examples below.

This week, you will learn about a slightly less technical, albeit still important component of cloud computing: managing your costs to ensure that a misconfiguration in your architecture does not inadvertently cause out-of-control billing.

For this discussion, I want you think in a similar, but different, area: Aside from billing considerations, what is another non-technical consideration that you want to factor in when designing a cloud system? If you are consulting an organization that is migrating to the cloud, how do you pitch this concern to them in a way that actually makes them think about it in a non-technical context?

Please also respond to one (1) of your classmates’ posts in an earnest attempt to further the discussion.

Examples : (choose one to reply)

1-For me when a company is moving to the cloud something they have to consider that is not non-technical and is still very important is the security they are using. Having a good security is as important as anything else, for example say someone hacks into your system due to you not having good security and now say your customers can’t go online to buy from your shop due to the down time because you got hacked or got some type of attacked that downed your system. That’s why I believe having a good security is the main and most important things that should be on top of everyone’s list. It may cost you a little bit more but it’s better for you in the long run where you might even lose more money due to down time or other things

2- Internet bandwidth requirements and service reliability are one of the most critical, but most ignored, aspects of cloud migration. It ‘s critical because the organization will become completely reliant on your cloud service provider if the IT infrastructure is transferred to the cloud. That means that the efficiency of the provider of cloud services is very important to the organization. To assess service provider, the organization must consider the number of company customers, nature of job, location. The organization must consider the Cloud service provider’s availability and bandwidth requirements to access service. another non technical aspect to consider is future migration needs. What would happen if, at a later date, you want to switch your environment to another location with a different cloud server provider. It is not easy to switch from one cloud environment to another and therefore these concern must be addressed as-well.

3-When migrating to the cloud there are a lot of things to consider. I think one of the most important things to consider is the compatibility of systems. The systems the company is currently using could be out of date and difficult to transfer to the cloud. You might also need more software licensing and support for the current systems and their software to be implemented in the cloud. In order to pitch this to an organization I would emphasis the benefits of the cloud and how important it is that the systems are updated and compatible. I would also share the benefits of upgrading their current systems and software so they are fully aware of the importance and benefits of migrating

4- Beside Cost management, I would consider the reliability of the cloud architecture. Reliability is the ability of an application to avoid failure and recover from it quickly when it occurs. When migrating to the cloud, the company must be concerned with the reliability of the cloud service provider to ensure that it can operate and test the workload through its lifecycle. I think this is one of the important non-technical factors in designing the cloud system. The cloud service providers should be reliable which can manage the workload and failure of the system. The reliability of the cloud is very critical, but it is hard to control the failure so reliable architecture will help to prevent the failure or has the tendency to recover quickly for the failure. As we have learned that there are not 100 percent available and they fail at some point. To prevent and handle the failure as well as recover from them quickly, the architecture of the cloud system must be reliable.
