Ashworth College Week 4 Structure and Function of Human Skeleton Bones Worksheet
Question Description
Prior to beginning work on this assignment, review Chapters 11, 12 and 13 of the textbook, and watch the Hand Anatomy Animated Tutorial video shown below.
For this scenario, imagine you are interning at a local physical therapists office. Mrs. Smith, your supervisor, has asked you to create a total of three basic posters for the office. You will need to create posters on the elbow, the wrist, and the hand. In order to make your posters visually appealing and informative for patients, Mrs. Smith would like for you to incorporate pictures, tables, diagrams, or other visuals. She has asked you to be creative in the design and the selection of visuals.
In your assignment,
- Create three posters.
- Identify the structure, prime movers, and anatomical relationships for each joint: the elbow, wrist joint, and the hand.
- Show each joint on its own poster page or slide. (You will have one poster for the elbow, one for the wrist, and one for the hand.)
Use your course text and at least two additional scholarly or credible resources to support your work. For help with your sources, refer to the Scholarly, Peer-Reviewed, and Other Credible Sourcestable and the Ashford University Library Quick n Dirty tutorial. All sources and images used must be cited and referenced according to APA Style, as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center (see Tables, Images, & Appendices for assistance).
Regarding visuals, avoid overloading patients with too much written information, and refrain from including long paragraphsuse bullets points and images instead. Wikimedia Commons and 123RF are a few options for copyright-free images.
You may choose to create your posters in PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Canvas Custom Posters Made Easy With Canvas Poster Maker, or another format of your choice.
Since your assignment will be graded in Waypoint, convert your poster files into a single PDF for submission.
- Note: If you are unable to convert your poster file to a PDF document, and you created it in an online program, you may provide the URL link to your work within the Waypoint comment box when submitting or by pasting the link into a Word document. Your instructor must be able to view your posters in order to provide feedback and a grade.
Carefully review the Grading Rubric for the criteria that will be used to evaluate your assignment.
