SDSU Single Factor Analysis Of Variance Anova Worksheet

Question Description

ESP is an acronym for Extrasensory Perception, of which one example is precognition – the ability to know what will happen before it happens. While we all probably have had a hunch or dream come true or thought of someone just before the person texts us, most people are either highly skeptical or unshakeable believers in ESP.

Across the billions of people on Earth involved in billions of decisions and actions, statistically it should not be surprising that some hunches, dreams, and intuitive senses manifest, at times even those seemingly extraordinarily implausible. But can some people harness the power of ESP beyond what statistical probabilities “allow?”

One Hundred people were divided into four equal groups: 25 Skeptics, 25 Believers, and then two groups of which having ESP would seem to greatly enhance job performance – 25 Psychics and 25 Professional Gamblers.

Each person stated what symbol was on a Zener card prior to it being shown. Zener cards are blank on one side; the other side contains 1 of 5 symbols: a plus sign, 3 wavy lines, a circle, a square, or a star. The number of successful matches out of 50 trials was recorded.
