Topic Selection:

The topic must be on a specific disease. For example, you must select a specific type of cancer instead of writing a paper on all types of cancer.

Research paper format:

1. Title page
2. Research paper: The research papers must be at least 5 full pages long. They must be typed and double-spaced. The font must be times new roman and the font size must be 12. The margins must be no larger than 1 inch on all four sides.

The following information must be included in your paper: causes of the disease, history of the disease, signs/symptoms of the disease, transmission, epidemiology (number of cases, types of people that get the disease), treatment, and prevention. The epidemiology section of the paper must be at least 2 of the 5 full typed pages.

You must use at least SEVEN SOURCES that were published within the last TEN years. The seven sources must be appropriate and MUST INCLUDE at least FOUR journal articles. Encyclopedias do NOT count towards your seven sources. You must CITE ALL your sources within the body of this section using APA format.

3.Reference page: You must include all of the sources of information that you cited within your research section of the project. Your list must be alphabetized by author’s last name. If there is no author then use the title to place it alphabetically within the REFERENCES section. Double-space between each source. If the source is longer than one line, single space the second line and indent the second line of the source. The correct format using APA for the reference page is located on the next two pages.
