Question Description

Choose one of the following prompts to guide your application essay. Essays should be about 5 pages in length (Times New Roman font, 12pt, double-spaced, ASA formatting). Essays should demonstrate mastery of the concepts from the unit materials (Weeks 5-8). Citations other than the textbook are heavily encouraged but not required.

I have attached the book chapters ( 5-8), withe concepts guide.

Find a recent news article (written within the last 6 months) and apply three course concepts to analyze it.

I will grade your essays using the following rubrics:

Prompt 3 Rubric (News Application):

Introduction	In your introduction section, you must introduce your topic and briefly describe how you will apply the concepts you have chosen to this topic.
Thesis Statement	You will need to include a thesis statement that describes in 1-2 sentences how the concepts you have chosen apply to your chosen news article. This is an argument-style statement.
Description of News Piece	You should provide details on the news you chose–summarize the article, describe the event, etc.
Definition of Concepts	You must provide definitions of the concepts you chose in your own words.
Application to News Piece	You should describe in detail, using examples from the news piece, how the concepts you chose apply to this event. This section should take up the most space in your essay.
Conclusion	You should include a section that summarizes your essay.
Formatting	You should include a title, page numbers, use 12 pt Times New Roman font, double-space your paper, and use ASA formatting for in-text citations and a Reference page.
