West Virginia University Technology Non Computer Technology Field Poster

This assignment is designed for you to teach your classmates about a non-computer technology (NCT) for use in your field. There are a variety of new “technologies” that have impacted your area of study. For example, the creation of the Apple Watch, Fitbit, and Smart Scales has had a huge impact on the fitness and nutrition industry, just to name a few. Please avoid duplicates. There is an example in Canvas under the assignments tab, assignment 4. Poster assignments will be evaluated in the following areas:

• Appealing/effective use of software: Poster looks professional and appealing through the effective use of the application. Includes pictures and graphics with appropriate source citations. Your poster is not an ad! (10 points).
• Informative: Information on the non-computer technology is sufficiently detailed for the reader to learn something about it and is accurate (5 points).
• Appropriate: technology is appropriate for the stated purpose; an effective case is made for its use; limitations are identified and possible alternatives to this technology are suggested (5 points).
• Your Technology in Your Field Poster can be created using a Google Slide, PPT or Keynote slide, Microsoft Word or Pages (1 slide or one page only), and may be created using a template (MS Word, Publisher, and Pages all have templates). Other software can be used at your discretion.
• Review the sample in the assignment area. The sample is good but not perfect. There is a piece missing from the requirements (subtle but there…). So – try to do better!
• DO NOT copy/paste text from a website based on your NCT.  Use your OWN words – you are learning about the product and teaching your classmates about it.
