INTRODUCTION

Batteries provided the main source of electrical power and output before the development of big generators and grids during the 19th Century. Through improvements in battery technology, over the course of history, scientific studies have allowed us to have batteries as a commodity, and not a luxury. With the introduction of nickel and lithium throughout the 20th and 21st century, the usage in portable electronic devices have become something feasible and necessary. The question that arises is how powerful a standard household battery (like a AA or AAA duracell battery) compared to others on the market. With these companies promoting longer life and efficiency, we the consumer must make choices in where we put our money to receive the best bargain and product for our dollar. Through data collection and statistical analysis and tests, the goal is to measure battery power to cost ratio, and locate the best option in terms of this.
