Central Texas College Jainism Buddhism and Hinduism Questions

1)Consider the three major South Asian philosophies : Janism, Buddism and Hinduism, What beliefs or practices did they have in common? Who would they appeal to and why?

thinking about society in South Asia, or in the Caste system, who in society might have been drawn to Jainism or Buddhism or preferred sticking with Hinduism and why do you think that was?

2) Are there any parallels to the Indo-Aryan caste system and our own social divisions? What sort of social distinctions exist in our society? How do we display rank, wealth, or privilege? *

A lot can be said for either of these questions, so I am only asking two this time. Remember, a good response should be thoughtful and needs to be more substantial than just one or two sentences.

3) If you were to be magically teleported through time and space, which one of these ancient societies would you want to be dropped into?

Paleolithic age; Neolithic age; Mesopotamia; Egypt; nubia/kush; east asia/north china plain; south asia/ indus river valley.
