When determining the causes of different psychological disorders, mental health professionals should consider the interaction of significant contributors such as genetics, behavior, cognition, emotion, social, interpersonal, and developmental factors. The amalgamation of these factors results in a multidimensional integrative approach to considering the causes of various psychological disorders. In the interest of our discussion we will take a closer look at conditioning and cognitive processes. Learned helplessness is a concept described by Martin Seligman and his colleagues during the 1960s and 1970s. Please describe and explain this concept according to your understanding of the term.
