Students will write brief “hot topic” synopsis of related topics that addresses mental health or substance use disorder in the black community. This synopsis should include relevant citations to the work as well as a brief summary of your current role and future aspirations within social work. Here are a few guidelines:

Topic: The Economic and Social Impact that drug abuse and addiction has on the nation.

1. Length: 750-1000 words (2-3 pages single spaced-ALL CONTENT)
2. Style: Plain Professional Language
3. Tone: Friendly, informative, empathetic and relatable
4. Structure: Try to use headings and bullet points, if possible be as concise as possible while still providing sufficient information
