Hello MGT 437 class,

The link here is to a brief Youtube video by Ms. Karla McLaren, a brilliant woman whom I’ve personally learned much about the language of emotions. I’ve read her book, The Language of Emotions, and she’s received a copy of my book too: The Divine Intelligence Governing Everyday Life. I hope she’s read it by now. Anyway, I’ll use many of Karla’s videos to help you better learn emotional intelligence and its applications.

This video requires you to do the following assignment.

1. Identify how Ms. McLaren defines emotions and what their functions are for.

2. Compare and contrast Ms McLaren’s general definition of emotions to that of the popular, conventional thinking and theory of emotions she describes in this video.

3. Compare and contrast the various specific emotions McLaren describes in this video to each general notion about that emotion she describes by society. Be sure to be clear by using ‘bullet points that specify and compare McLaren’s versus the conventional belief about each emotion she mentioned here in this video. SPECIFICS MATTER HERE FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT, McLaren mentions specifics emotions here.

4. Conclude this assignment with:

a. what you’ve now learned about emotions; and

b. how this new learning will help you better apply yourselves to your emotions and those others.

Choose two public policy issues and compare and contrast them for their impact on Business. You may choose any local (US Virgin Islands) or state (United States) enacted public policies. Write a 5 page paper exclusive of cover pages and reference pages. All written papers MUST BE IN APA writing format. You must have at a minimum 5 references supporting your research.

You must include the following:

1. What is the intent of the public policy (implicit and explicit)
2. What is the public agenda surrounding the Public Policy?
3. Is the policy appropriate or in appropriate?
4. What resources do the public policy provides?
5. Should this bill have being implemented?(Explain)
6. Does it address that Public Problem?
7. Have there been any amendments to the public policy?
8. What was the reason for the amendments?
9. What are the advantages and disadvantages of the public policy?
