Ottawa Perceptions Cognition and Emotions in Negotiation Discussion

Question Description

Students are to observe two or more adults (NO CHILDREN) unknown to the observer. The student must not be able to hear the subjects being observed conversation and those being observed must not be wearing a uniform of any kind as this would provide information about their occupation to the observer. (DO NOT COPY AND PASTE FROM THE INTERNET THIS MUST BE A PERSONAL OBSERVATION). CAN BE A PAST OBSERVATION DUE TO THE CURRENT PANDEMIC OR PRESENT OBSERVATION IF POSSIBLE)

Students must describe the environment and the people being observed, i.e., age, gender, dress, etc. Discuss the nonverbal communication, i.e. eye contact, body position and any other nonverbal behavior. Provide your interpretation of the relationship between those being observed. Be very discrete and do not have a conversation with those being observed.

Students must include the topic based on research (although this is a personal observation exercise there must an introduction of the weekly topic).

For all discussions questions a primary response of 200-250 word must be posted to the discussion forum.

Last Week’s feedback

There was the need for the addition of a third paragraph a conclusion/summary paragraph. For these assignments I have advised students to use the format as follows: –

(1) An introduction which introduces the topic, (

2) A body which answers the question and (

3) A conclusion which restates the main points of your response. Additionally, there were some grammatical and sentence construction errors within your response which further detracted from your grade. To ensure full points towards their grades students must ensure their responses are free of these errors by using a tool such as Grammarly. Next for these assignment students must ensure that their reference list is formatted as per APA 6th edition to avoid further point reduction.
