George Mason University Decks and Vehent Purpose of DevOps Questions

This week and last week, you should have read the decks and Vehent readings to get a basic understanding of DevOps pipelines and how to secure them. For this assignment, please provide answers to these questions in your own words (do not merely paraphrase the readings!), uploaded as a Word document

Questions 1 through 3 are based on the DevOps Basics deck .

Questions 4 and 5 are based on your assigned reading from Vehent.

1. What is the purpose of DevOps (forget about “Sec” for a moment)? What benefits does it bring to software engineering teams and enterprises who have already been doing things a certain way for the last several decades?
2. Briefly explain how source code management with Git works, and describe a real-world example in which its benefits might be realized.
3. What is CI/CD? Explain briefly in your own words, and describe a real-world example in which it might be used.
4. What is the role of security teams in DevOps organizations, as described by Vehent?
5. Briefly describe and define the three areas of “continuous security,” as described by Vehent.
