1. Click on this LINK (Links to an external site.), which will show you the Preface and Chapter 1 to a textbook your teacher-guide wrote titled THIS LITTLE BOOK About How to Write a College-Level Essay. Scroll past the Preface to Chapter 1, and complete Exercise 1 according to directions. (You do NOT need to submit Exercise 1 in this assignment.)

2. In 750 words (3 pages), write an essay in which you share your thoughts about the information your teacher-guide shared with you in the Exercise 1 essay. Do NOT write an essay about how to write an essay–but about the writer’s opinion in the Chapter 1 essay about how to write an essay. Do you agree or disagree with her opinion about how to write an essay? Why?

3. In your writing, make sure you include these writing techniques, which are demonstrated in the Chapter 1 essay:

(a) A thesis (overall opinion about the information in the Exercise 1 essay). See Paragraph 1 example.

(b) A map to your essay. See Paragraph 2 example.

(b) A one-sentence transitional paragraph. See Paragraph 3 example.
