I just wanted to quickly clarify that the Descriptive Analysis assignment should cover the speech you plan to analyze for Paper One. The assignment refers to a political speech, but I mean this very broadly. You can analyze any speech that involves persuasion. That is, you can analyze any speech that is attempting to influence the audience’s behavior, and/or opinions. So while a speech from the recent political conventions, or a politician’s stump speech, would work quite well, a TED Talk could also work. Please let me know if you have any questions, or if you are unsure as to whether a specific speech would work.
