University of California Unit 3 An American Marriage Discussion

Introduction

In our third essay of the semester, we will use combine our understanding of Tayari Jones’s novel with the strategies used in the books reviews of the novel we read and discussed to write our own book review of the book. Even though it is a book review, we can still apply the same techniques we use in our essays: develop a compelling thesis and support it effectively with multiple examples.

Instructions

Please write a book review for An American Marriage by Tayari Jones that includes the following:

• A thesis based on whether you recommend the novel to other readers or not.
• Cite the novel at least three times to support your thesis/recommendation. (You may cite other texts, but please still cite novel itself at least three times.)
• Use Modern Language Association (MLA) format for both your in-text citations and your Works Cited.
• Assume your reader has not read the novel.
• Please make your book review at least two pages long, double-spaced
• check the rubric
