UCR Week 4 Light Microscopy and Cell Structure and Function Lab Report
Question Description
Dear student.
Please view the video on Microscope parts and functions with your lab worksheets available either on printed paper or downloaded on your computer. Youll be describing the functions of the major parts of a microscope on page 1, then labeling the parts of the microscope listed on page 2. Please watch the video as you complete pages 1 and 2. You will then be prepared to answer the questions on Page 3. You will need to view a small portion of the Bringing an image into view video. Start at minute 5:20.
Youll also define important organelles of cells listed on page 4. You should have your lecture notes or chapter 4 of your textbook available as a resource. You will complete your lab assignment by sketching a selection of cells on page 5 while viewing my presentation video of Cells to sketch. You may also use your own white paper or notebook paper for the sketches.
NOTE: The second video, Bringing an image into view, is only necessary for answering question 3 on page 3 of your worksheets (start at minute 5:20). This video is otherwise important to students moving on to microbiology and anatomy courses.
Turning in your work:
1) You may type your answers on word. You can type the functions of the parts of the microscope and list what each labeled part of the microscope represents. You can also type your definitions of listed organelles and answer the two questions that follow at the bottom of page 4. The sketches of your cells may be done by hand. Submit one or two pics of your sketches. Remember to label your sketches. I need to see your labels to assess your understanding of the organelles found in various cells.
