“Information sharing can be devastating for any organization. Throughout history this has been true and reminds me of the phrase, “loose lips sink ships” when referring to naval activity and the importance of not sharing information because of the consequences. Information sharing is equally important to organizations and for national infrastructure as it relates to cybersecurity. Below are some of the different methods highlighted within the textbook to prevent inadvertent information sharing.

1. Utilize obscurity layers to provide guidance to employees on what can be shared and how to respond if information is leaked. The obscurity layers outlined by the textbook are as follows:
   1. Data Markings
   2. Sharing Policy
   3. Leakage policy
2. Other ways to prevent leaks:
   1. Prevent public speeches with employees with national infrastructure responsibility
   2. Remove national infrastructure from public websites
   3. Search the internet for ethical hacking opportunities and national infrastructure information (Remove sensitive content when discovered)
3. Compartmentalize sensitive information regarding national infrastructure
