Step 1: Interview

Research the topic of professional development in education. Your task is to complete the following:

• Create 10 open-ended interview questions that are directly related to the topic, and you will use these questions in interviewing a leader in your or another organization.
• Your objective is find out the factors related to influence and power in the organization.
• Seek out information from the interviewee regarding:
  • What are the factors influencing power, politics, networking, and negotiation in the organization?
  • How do leaders at the organization help stakeholders develop communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skill?
  • What strategies are used to coach employees with regards to performance?

You may want to ask follow-up questions to ensure that you get detailed information. You will submit your questions and the detailed interview answers.

Step 2: Essay

Your task is to analyze what you have learned from your interview and your research this week to write an essay to include:

• Key points from the interview.
• Tie what you have learned from the interview to what you have learned in your research.

Your essay should be 2000-2500 words and should include at least three (3) citations. The sections should be clearly marked with headings to identify which points you are addressing. Follow the guidelines for APA writing style. The title page and references page do not count towards the minimum word amount for this assignment.
