Literature Review Assignment Directions
Write a final version of your literature review considering feedback from your peers and instructor. This paper should be 7-8 pages, double spaced (2000 words, please include word count in at the end of the assignment). You will use APA 7 formatting, headings and referencing with a minimum of 5 peer reviewed sources focused on the issues or social problem youre examining.
Your paper should be organized as follows:
- The identified social problem/issue
Describe/define the social problem that interests you. Provide national and local data to show the scale of the problem.
- The population affected
What is the impact of this problem on the communities that are affected? Describe how they are affected, and provide data/statistics on how this problem is experienced by diverse communities or groups within a community.
- What is the problems relevance to the social work profession
How/why is this relevant to social work, how does it relate to social work ethics/values (think NASW code of ethics), AND the Transcultural Perspective.
- Specific Implications for Social Work Practice and Social Policy
Describe implications for social work practice and policy to address the social problem that you describe. Be sure to discuss both practice and policy implications that address the diverse groups described in section 1 and 2.
- Sources of data that help define the problem and population
Provide an analysis of the data sources that you used in section 1 and 2 to help quantify the problem/population. What are the strengths and limitations of these data?
