Saint Cloud State University Psychosocial Development and Human Growth Discussion
Question Description
I’m working on a psychology project and need an explanation to help me learn.
Background (about 3-4 pages)(This is the most important part of the paper!)(You should cite at least 3 references in this part Santrock (2014) and/or Wenger (2021) and then 2 more journal articles.)Describe the general topic for this research (i.e., is it about cognitive development, personality development, social development, etc.?) Perhaps describe a theory that relates to the general topic. Describe some of the originalresearch (you may describe related research) that was conducted utilizing the task that you observed. What was thepurpose of the research? How did some researchers implement the task? What people were used as subjects orparticipants? What were some results and conclusions? At minimum, include brief summaries of two research articlesyou found via PsycINFO(EBSCOhost) or PsycARTICLES(EBSCOhost), as described below. Do not only rely on thesearticles for information in this section, but use content from these articles to supplement your discussion (e.g., how theymight support or weaken what you are presenting).
The Current Task/Observation (about 2 pages)Describe your subject/participant. Describe the task you used (it can be a variation of the original task). Describehow the task relates to the general topic you presented earlier. Describe or include any materials you used for theobservation. Describe the steps you used to set-up the observation. Describe your prediction for what would happen, andthen describe what actually happened (i.e., the results).
Conclusion (about 1 page)Describe what can be concluded from your (small-scale) observation (understand that theories are based onoverall trends with many participants and not individual instances; also, theories are never completely correct norcompletely incorrect). In particular, describe why you believe the results occurred as they did, and describe what youwould try differently if you could try the project again.
References (1 page)List the two research articles you cited in the Background section in APA format. Also, list the Santrockand/or Wenger references appropriately (if you used information from these sources).
Your project will be graded with these criteria in mind. About 50% of your score will be based on providingquality content/information related to Child Growth and Development. About 30% of your score will be based onapplying that content/information to the rest of the paper. About 20% of your score will be based on quality ofwriting (e.g., spelling, coherence, applying general APA format, and following basic directions).
Few Examples: Jean Piaget- preoperational stage (age2-7) Centration experiment, Animism; Domain-Specific Theories Experiment.
