I’m working on a criminal justice writing question and need an explanation to help me learn.

• This writing exercise asks you to reflect on the course material (lectures, slides, reading, supplemental materials) and use that course material to answer the following prompt.
• • I)Choose a current or historical event in the news
  • II)Explain how one of the theories we learned in this course would understand the human behavior taking place within this event as crime, III) what assumptions about human behavior does this theory make in order to allow it to categorize this behavior as crime, IV) what does this theory argue causes crime.
  • (e.g. “The example I’ve decided to use is a person stealing a car as described in this current event: XX. One of the theories we learned this week is strain theory. I believe strain theory would understand this behavior as crime because XX. Strain theory makes the following assumptions about human behavior when considering it criminal behavior: XX. Strain theory believes crime is caused by XX.”
• Should be 1-page double spaced Doc/Docx, 12-point font, and cite (e.g. MLA or Chicago style) which course materials you are drawing from to answer the question, citing at least 3 materials. More citations and integrating more materials will be rewarded as exceptional with a higher grade. Less citations and idea integration will be considered and graded as satisfactory completion, but not complex enough to warrant a higher grade.
• Citations should be on page 2.
• No less than 1-double spaced page of writing without obvious, deliberate spacing to achieve this.
