Rasmussen College Module 4 Creating a Company Analysis Report Discussion

Question Description

In this project, you will complete and submit the final piece of your course project. You performed vertical calculations, horizontal calculations, ratio calculations and recorded competitor ratios in the Module 04 spreadsheet. You will now write an analysis report to the investment board.

In your report, interpret the spreadsheet numbers and make an investment recommendation for your audience. The report should include the following (See Additional Material section for assistance):

  1. Analyze the horizontal calculations on your spreadsheet. Choose four items (two from the balance sheet and two from the income statement) that you feel are important to highlight, positive or negative. Share what these items mean in terms of the company’s performance. Use your number calculations to support your statements.
  2. Analyze the two years of vertical calculations on your spreadsheet. Choose four items (two from the balance sheet and two from the income statement) that you feel are important to highlight, positive or negative. Share what these items mean in terms of the company’s performance. Use your number calculations to support your statements.
  3. Analyze the company ratios. Address each of the ratio categories: liquidity, asset management, solvency, profitability and market analysis. State what each ratio tells you and then relate it to the company’s performance. Use your calculations from both years and your company research.
  4. Compare competitor ratios. Compare the company to the competition in each of the ratio categories. Support your statements with your calculations and research.
  5. Advise the investment board on whether to invest in the company. Support your recommendation with your numbers.
  6. Your finished report should be 3-5 pages, written with professional language and use proper spelling and grammar. It must include a cover page and a reference page. You may use summary charts when appropriate.
