Question Description
I’m working on a political science writing question and need a sample draft to help me learn.
Choose and answer one or more of the following (cite lectures for all answers and see the syllabus for further guidelines):
Explain why faith thrives in the United States
Explain the logic of religion in the Civil Rights Movement
Explain the significance of William Jennings Bryan
You can write about more than one of the prompts for the essay. You can also write about just one. If you want to write about more than one prompt, although this is not a formal “requirement”, I would suggest probably just choosing two and making sure that you focus on linking them together, not just writing about both as separate topics. This is because it is very important to make an independent argument in your essay and not simply rehash course material. 5-6 pages long.
Use standard formatting with:
Double spacing
11 or 12 point font (Times, Helvetica, Calibri, etc.)
1 inch margins
No more than 1 inch of space dedicated to title and header
No extraneous space between paragraphs or headers
Cite lecture and class readings where appropriate (points will be deducted if you do not cite sources correctly):
Include a bibliography page at the end of your paper
Include in–text parenthetical citations throughout the paper (including lecture dates)
Do not use footnotes unless absolutely necessary
Do not use outside sources
Do not copy/paste lecture notes into the text of your response (this isplagiarism)
Do not include images, tables or figures
Do not simply paraphrase the lecture notes or the book
