Pitt Community College Developing a Positive Student Teacher Relationship Paper

I’m working on a writing report and need support to help me understand better.

The purpose of the activity is to encourage you to begin thinking about classroom rules and procedures and how they will help you create a productive learning environment in your classroom.

Making a plan for the following areas, can make a big difference in your first-year experience as a teacher.

• How will you communicate to your students that you care? What is your plan for developing a positive student-teacher relationship with each one?
• What is your plan for organizing your classroom? How will you set up a “learning community” and organize materials to create an organized system for carrying out daily activities?
• How will you plan rules and procedures that will create systems for classroom routines that will help guide students’ behavior?
• What are some teaching strategies you will put into place that will enable students to be involved and promote learning?

Based on what you have learned through readings, class discussions, talking with veteran teachers, experiences, etc., put your thoughts in a paper that describes a plan you would put into place your first year of teaching. Your paper should at least answer the questions above, as well as any other thoughts and ideas you have. This should be formatted in a way that gives a clear picture of your plan and one that would impress a principal interviewing you for your first teaching job.

The usual formatting rules apply, and the length of your paper will be determined by your plan. I would like as much detail as possible.
