I’m working on a management question and need an explanation to help me understand better.

You have accepted a position as a Community Outreach Coordinator for a local health system that provides several levels of care, including long-term and community-based services. The local Senior Citizens Center will not allow you to do a live presentation regarding the services your organization provides because they feel it would be unfair to your competitors. However, they will to allow you to provide information about long-term care services and supports to their constituents. Your goal is to deliver this information in an attractive and effective manner.

  1. Review the rubric to make sure you understand the criteria for earning your grade.
  2. Read Chapter 6 in Basics of the U.S. Health Care System.
  3. Read Overview of Long-Term Services and Supports.
  4. Choose a topic of interest and research additional information utilizing the OCLS and/or the Internet. Select one of the following
    1. The history and evolution of long-term care services and supports.
    2. Types of long-term care services. (chosen topic)
    3. Current methods of financing long-term care.
    4. Trends in the delivery of long-term care services.
  5. For this assignment, you are creating an infographic. Infographics are informational graphics (posters) that allow you to share a large amount of information in a small and attractive manner .
    1. You can create the infographic using the software of your choice.
    2. Easel.ly at https://easel.ly is a free resource that enables you to create attractive infographics. Sign-up is required. There are multiple videos available on YouTube which will assist you in creating the infographic. One is located at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=plAxuflQFFg. One note on Easel.ly, with free access there are limited download options. You can, however, create a shareable link for others to access.

  6. Using the information found through your reading and research, create an infographic explaining your chosen topic of interest selected in #4 above.
  7. Ensure the infographic conveys the message in a manner understandable to the audience for your infographic. Remember your reading about health literacy. You may find the information provided by the CDC at https://www.cdc.gov/healthliteracy/developmaterials/audiences/olderadults/index.html useful in choosing content and designing the infographic.
  8. Be creative. This can be a fun assignment.
  9. Create a Reference page for sources used in the development of the infographic. Be sure to use appropriate APA formatting of your references. Submit these in a separate file.
