Grand Canyon University Licensed Practical Nurses Organizations Discussion

There are many agencies and organizations that help with guiding advanced registered nursing and specialtyroles within advanced registered nursing such as nursing informatics. All these organizations work towardskeeping the standards of care high for patient carequality and outcomes. For nursing informatics, The American Health Information Management Association(AHIMA) focuses on leading the industry in health information. Some of the areas the AHIMA focuses on and advocates for is proper patient identification, protection of information outside of the HIPPA entities, and management of clinical and administrative data. All of these areas work to improve the quality of care and protect patients from harm (AHIMA & Advocacy, n.d.).
