It’s essential to plan ahead when you are planning an event, press trip or day of interviews with a spokesperson. The media talent schedule, also known as an itinerary or Run of Show, is an item-by-item sequence of actions that will happen during the specified day. It identifies contact information for all key players, who is doing what and at what time, and acts as the master document that explains everything that goes on behind the scenes during the day from beginning to end.

Assignment Overview: In this graded assignment, create a Media Talent Schedule for the hypothetical scenario outlined below. The schedule must include travel logistics and reporter details for one print and one broadcast interview. Please feel free to use your creativity and imagination to include details, such as pick up address and flight confirmation numbers, as applicable.

The Scenario:

The CEO of Nike, Mark Parker is doing a media tour in LA to promote a new marketing campaign, “Students Striving for Athletics.” The campaign provides athletic gear to inner city schools. A portion of all sneaker sales will go towards the cause to provide student athletes with sneakers, clothing and energy bars.

He will be in LA on April 17 for media. He is flying from San Francisco to LA on April 16 then back to NY on April 18. Please write a talent schedule reflecting his travel and at least two media interviews- one print and one broadcast.

• Day 1 April 16: Mark travels from San Francisco to LA (hotel)
• Day 2 April 17 Media Day in LA
• Day 3 April 18 Travel from LA to NY (car drop off at his home)
