Remember what we learned about how to analyze literature
- Read the poems several times: Reading once only gives you the basics – you will miss a lot!
- Engage with the text: Print and annotate it, or at the very leasttake notes on things you notice (and note where you found those things).You’ll need this information later.
- Keep track of patterns: Do certain words show up a few times? Are there symbols that seem important? Are there repeating ideas?
- Look for “golden lines” – lines that you find particularly beautiful, interesting, or meaningful.
