  2. Who are the principle figures?
  3. What are the contributing factors, developments, practices, etc.?

Guidelines:

  • Your text must contain a minimum of 5-6 pages of expository prose–not including a cover page, bibliography/work cited page, and figures/images of works. -2 points per line will be deducted if shorter. Note: any student missing pages from other assignments must add them to this assignment.
  • It must be double-spaced, with standard 1-inch margins.
  • It must be in 12-point New Times Roman font.
  • It must be in “formal” prose. This means no contractions, clichés, ending a sentence with a preposition, colloquialisms, and split infinitives. Run a grammar and spell check on the “formal” setting.
  • It must include at least 5 academic/scholarly references (from your annotated bibliography and/or additional sources that follow the guidelines for research), substantiating your address/claims. Points will be deduced for citing non-academic sources.
  • Remember to cite your sources with footnotes (I demonstrated this in class). I will not accept parenthetical documentation.
  • Must use the Chicago Manual of Style for formatting references and citations.
  • Points will be deducted for grammatical errors + for failure to follow directions.

Before you turn in your work, ask yourself:

  • Is it double-spaced, with 1″ margins, and in 12-point New Times Roman font?
  • Is it spell-checked and proofread?
  • Is it grammatically correct?
  • Was it revised? And, if so, how many times?
  • Does it fit the page length requirements?
  • Is your file in .doc or .docx file format?
  • Did you review the rubric?
