University of Texas Improvements and Structures of Thermodynamics System Essay

Project goal:
Learn about the thermodynamics system of your choice, analyze the system using first and second law of thermodynamics, and finally propose your improvements on the system.

THE TOPIC IS HOUSEHOLD REFRIGERATORSFirst: Dentify the mechanical parts/cycle in the thermodynamics system.

Second: do a research and find possible states of fluids in the system. If you are having difficulties to find information about the operation conditions (states of each inlets and exits), you may use values in the textbook problems as approximations.

Third: perform analysis of the system using the first and second law of thermodynamics. Finally, put everything together and finish the report.
You might need to include but not limited to the following parts in the report.

1. Introduction: General information about your system and what are you trying to achieve in this report.
2. Thermodynamics consideration: Draw a schematic of the thermodynamic system and describe it with your own words including what each part does and what the whole system do.
3. Thermodynamics analysis: Analyze heat, work or efficiency for the system (1st law); Analyze the entropy generation (2nd law).
4. Proposed improvements based on the above analysis.
5. Economics effect: Talk about the economics consequences of the system. For example,if the system is jet engine, research on the cost of energy needed nowadays for jetengines.
6. Conclusion.
