University of North Texas Current Issue of Displacement Memo

This assignment will give you the opportunity to learn more about a specific example of displacement/migration, and to apply some of the knowledge you have learned in this class to think about that situation. The goal for this project is for you to research a topic in displacement of your choice, and then to write an informed analysis of that topic that could be used to inform a decision-maker about that issue.

The analytic memo should be between 1000-1250 words. In it you should provide the following:

• Brief description of the topic/situation
• Historical and cultural context of the topic situation, including root causes
• Use at least two concepts from lesson content or course readings to analyze the situation
• Suggestions for potential courses of action, if appropriate
• Suggested resources for the decision-maker to learn more about the issue
