The University of Texas at Arlington Deprivation Dwarfism Discussion

In Gardner’s description of deprivation dwarfism, he discusses situations where a child’s health changes fairly quickly as family circumstances change in the direction of greater or less emotional support for the child. Do you find these changes in health believable? Why or why not?
