This week, you’re exploring your communication skills.

Think of a time when effective or ineffective communication affected your success at home, school, or work.

In paragraph 1, describe what happened, in detail.

In paragraph 2, explain how strong communication contributed to or could have improved the situation’s outcome. Be specific.

Part 2: respond to Maria

When I got covid at my job my grades went down. I found it hard to concentrate and to manage to do my work on time. I thought if I just got through it and found a time of week I could catch up. I found it very difficult to even find a time I didn’t fell so ill that I could manage to do my work and my home life was just as complicated. Being quarantined away from my family was becoming very stressful. Through communication and having to admit I needed help I contacted my professor and he encouraged me to continue to do my work even if it was late. I also looked for help from a counselor to help with all the overwhelming financial stress since I had to quite my job due to my illness. Through communication I was able to continue my education and manage my stress. I emailed and called on the phone to let my professor know what was happening and to ask for help.
