Rasmussen College Power Cooling Solution and Green Technologies Discussion

For this part of your course project, your company CEO has asked you to choose a power and cooling solution for the Data Center that also make us of Green technologies. For your proposal, you will need to research online for various Data Center power and cooling solutions. Choose the appropriate one to fit your Data Center needs. Your power and cooling solutions should use standard 2u Servers using duel 750watt power supplies and 4u Storage unit using quad 500watt power supplies.

Write a proposal providing the following:

• Specifications for your Power and Cooling solution and the green technologies you employed. Include detailed specifications on the make, model and costs of the components you are recommending. Discuss why you chose that specific solution.
• Determine Power consumption.
  • Multiply the number of servers you chose in module 01 by 750 to calculate server watts.
  • Multiply the number of storage units by 500 to calculate storage watts. (Note: Having multiple power supplies does not mean a server or storage unit will draws more watts; extra power supplies provide redundancy by acting as backups.).
  • Round up the watt requirements and use these Power Conversions Tables to determine the amount of cooling required.
  • Include your calculations in your submission.
• The estimated cost of the equipment for servers and storage thus far.

In addition, update your Data Center design visual to:

• Include your Power solution
  • Show Location and how it connects to the server room
• Include your Cooling solution
  • Show location and how it connects to the server room
• Include Green Technologies

Include all relevant screenshots or embedded images of your updated floorplans and designs in your proposal.
