Rasmussen College Data Center Site Selection Discussion

The CEO has asked you to write a report summarizing your Site selection (Geographical location) and why you chose your site.

NOTE: Next week you will need to address a power and cooling solution for your data center that makes use of a Green Technology so you should take this into consideration as you decide on a site (for example, a location next to a water source might be used to cool your center.)

This paper will require you to research the existing locations of various data centers, service providers, and power grids. Your best search strategy might be to search by zip code or state to identify suitable locations. Include your sources in your paper.

• Write a report with that addresses the following:
  • You’re chosen Geographical Site Selection and why you chose this location. Remember to make sure that you have:
    • access to one or more ISPs (Internet Service Providers)
    • access to one or more power grid(s)
  • The impact of location on heating and cooling

Include all relevant screenshots or embedded images of your updated floorplans and designs in your report.
